Living Lab 1702

Pratt | 2010

The Living Lab project began in Spring 2009 as an interdisciplinary studio course focused on various aspects of sustainability. The goal was to challenge our understanding of sustainable design and allow us to articulate a progressive approach to dorm life.

In August 2010, room 1702 of Willoughby Hall was reinvented as a fully articulated, sustainably designed space. Some highlighted features include energy control systems, low-VOC paints, resurfaced cabinets, and new furniture designs built from existing dorm furniture.
